History


At the beginning, the institute was situated on the territory of the Tashkent Communication Polytechnic founded in 1930 (nowadays the Tashkent Vocational College of Communication) and was functioning there until the beginning of the academic year 1961–1962. The duties of the head (rector) of the institute were temporarily entrusted to N. B. Matskevich, chief of the Technical School of Communication. In the first academic year, 150 students were admitted to the University only on one specialization: telephone and telegraph communication. So the telephone and telegraph communication (TTC) faculty and four united departments were established. The first graduation of engineers took place in 1960.

In the academic year of 1957–58 the radio and broadcasting faculty (RBF) was opened and the institute began training radio and broadcasting engineers. In 1957 general-technical departments were established to train students in such specializations as telephony, telegraphy, communication lines, telecommunication, and power supply of communication enterprises. Since 1960 such departments as theoretical fundamentals of radio engineering; radio receivers; radio transmitters; broadcasting and television and some others were established.


Faculties


The university trains Bachelors in 11 directions of education and Masters in 13 specialties. For 50 years, the university has trained over 30,000 engineers, both holders of bachelor's and master's degrees. Among its graduates there are more than 150 Doctors of Science and Candidates of Science. In the Tashkent University of Information Technologies there are six faculties:

Computer Engineering Faculty (CEF)


The CEF consists of the following departments:

  • Application programming

  • Telematics

  • Informatics

  • Engineering and computer graphics

The CEF trains Bachelors in the following directions of education:

  • Informatics and Information technologies

  • Information security

  • Electronic commerce

The CEF trains Masters in the following specialties:

  • Computing machinery, complexes, systems and networks

  • Automated control systems and information processing

  • Mathematical and software support for computing machinery, complexes, systems and networks

  • Theoretical fundamentals of informatics

INFORMATION SERVICES ENGINEER

You will be trained to manage, maintain, configure and deploy a wide range of Information, Communications and Technology systems, ensuring that frontline troops and Commanders can communicate on operations worldwide whilst protecting these systems from Cyber Warfare threats.



NETWORKS ENGINEER

You will prepare, configure, deploy and maintain operational and tactical communication systems to ensure frontline troops and their Commanders can communicate on operations worldwide. You will be able to engineer a range of systems including radios, satellite systems, computer networks and mobile communications as well as support a range of software applications and ICT.



INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

You will become experts in building voice and data telecommunications networks in fixed locations and supporting rapid reaction deployments across the world anywhere, anytime, using fibre optic and copper cables, underground and at height, with opportunities to qualify as an Aerial Rigger. You will install communications network data centres and configure advanced telecommunications equipment.



This role includes the roles formerly known as Communications Systems Engineer, Communication Systems Operator and Communications Engineer - Installation.

  • Engineer, maintain and repair a range of communications equipment for use on the Battlefield and on Operations.

  • Install, service and repair telecommunications data cable networks, data centres, configure switches, routers, servers and LAN access equipment.

  • Get continuous personal and professional development including civilian accredited transferable qualifications.

  • Learn to drive and operate military vehicles ranging from Land Rover or HGV to fully armoured fighting vehicles.

  • Operate as a Royal Signals soldier conducting military tasks wherever UK Armed Forces are deployed.

Mirzo Ulugbek and world science


An international scientific conference on "Mirzo Ulugbek's contribution to the development of world science" was held in Samarkand.

Under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, special attention is paid to the preservation and enrichment of the cultural and spiritual heritage created by our ancestors, in-depth study of the history of our statehood, understanding and self-expression. The international scientific conference "Mirzo Ulugbek's contribution to the development of world science" in Samarkand was dedicated to the in-depth study of the scientific and spiritual heritage of the great scientist.

Participants of the international conference laid wreaths at the statue of Mirzo Ulugbek. They got acquainted with the activities of the Observatory and the Ulugbek Museum. The great monuments of ancient Samarkand, such as Shahi Zinda, Gori Amir, Registan, aroused great interest and admiration among foreign guests. The participants of the conference praised the creative and beautification work carried out in Samarkand during the years of independence.

Computer engineering (CpE) is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardware and software. Computer engineers usually have training in electronic engineering (or electrical engineering), software design, and hardware-software integration instead of only software engineering or electronic engineering. Computer engineers are also suited for robotics research, which relies heavily on using digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motorscommunications, and sensors.

In many institutions of higher learning, computer engineering students are allowed to choose areas of in-depth study in their junior and senior year because the full breadth of knowledge used in the design and application of computers is beyond the scope of an undergraduate degree. Other institutions may require engineering students to complete one or two years of general engineering before declaring computer engineering as their primary focus.

Type Zero Conditional Sentences (zero condition)


This type of conditional sentence is used to describe scientific facts, generally known truths, events and other things that are always true.

I think it’s the simplest type of conditional sentence in English.


The structure of Type Zero conditional sentences:


Main part: Present Simple; if part: Present Simple

Examples:



  •         Water boils if you heat it to 100 degrees Celsius.

  •         A red light comes on if you press the main button.

In Type Zero sentences, if can be replaced by when.

Examples:



  •         When you heat ice, it melts.

  •         It gets dark when the sun goes down

Type One Conditional Sentences (open condition)


This type of sentence expresses real and possible situations in the future; it is possible for the condition to be met.

The structure of Type One conditional sentences:


Main part: will + infinitive; if part: Present Simple

Examples:



  •         We will stay at home if it snows.

  •         She will get angry if I‘m late for the party.

  •         If we get the money for this job, we will buy a new car.

  •         Will you help Amanda if she asks you?

 

Type Two Conditional Sentences (half-open condition)


This type of conditional sentence describes an unreal situation with regard to the present or future; a hypothetical condition that can only be fulfilled in theory.

The structure of Type Two conditional sentences:


Main part: would + infinitive; if part: Past Simple

In conditional sentences, the past tense form of the verb to be is were for all persons; was is also used, although only in spoken or conversational English.

Examples:


  •         We would stay at home if it snowed.

  •         I would buy a new board if I had more money.

  •         If he were rich, he‘d buy an island.

  •         If you left now, you‘d catch the last bus.

Type two conditional sentences are also used when making polite requests.

Examples:



  •         I would be grateful if you helped me.

  •         He would be so pleased if you came to the birthday party.

The phrases If I were you or If I were in your place are usually used to give advice.

Examples:



  •         If I were you I would accept the offer.

  •         If he were in your place he would do it.
