Dear Editor,
Wherever 1 look these days, there are changes. The other day I visited my native town and I hardly knew where I was.
Only a year ago there was a lovely old house in Main street. I was born there. My father sold the house several years ago, but where is it now? When did they build those new stores? There was a nice little meat market next door. It’s gone too. Are they going to move the old church? These are just a few examples of changes that are being made in our town every day.
Things have never changed so often or as fast as they have in the past ten years. It is frightening.
I don't know what young people think, but many older people like me are beginning to feel insecure. People are feeling the stress of constant changes. I am sure that the increasing pace of change is the cause of social problems and mental illnesses.
Let’s make changes a little more slowly and think about the people.
Yours truly, Mrs Delia Swan Lakeland, Ohio
