§ 1.2. Review of methods for modeling geofiltration processes in problems of forecasting the state of groundwater

In the development of the study of regional hydrogeological systems, the organization of the use of groundwater in drinking and domestic water supply, analog, mathematical modeling since the 80s, scientists Bindeman N.N., Bochever F.M., Verigin N.N., Plotnikov N. .I., Yazvin L.S., Polubarinova-Kochina P.Ya., Silina-Bekchurina A.I., on the basis of numerical modeling processes for hydrogeological conditions, developed the theory of hydrogeological calculations V.M. Shestakov, V.A. Mironenko, V. G. Ruminin, G. E. Ershov, A. V. Lekhov and others [16; 611 b] - such issues as the substantiation and forecast of groundwater conditions have been resolved.
The author of the hydromechanical method in the filtration theory is NHPavlovsky [ 64;752-p. ]. Subsequently, it was developed in the works of V.I. Aravin, S.N. Numerova, V.V. Vedernikova and others [ 9;256-p. ].
At the end of the 1940s - the beginning of the 1950s, there was a stage of conducting calculations using non-stationary filtration, mainly based on the hydraulic theory of filtration, taking into account the Dupuis premise. According to it, it is customary to consider the seepage head regardless of the vertical coordinate [67;664-p.]. Such methods are based on the wide use of the mathematical analogy of the filtration theory, as well as heat conduction and diffusion. As a result of this, the solutions of each discipline can be transferred to another. The most productive in solving differential equations of filtration is the operator method [75;546-p.]. The creators of calculation methods with hydraulic solutions are S.K. Abramov, S.F. Averyanov, V.I. Aravin, V.A. Baron, F.M. Bochever, HHVerigin, E.S. Dzektser, N.P. Kuranov, HH Lapshin, V.A. Mironenko, A.Zh. Muftakhov, PA Nagumanov, S.I. Numerov, P.Ya. Polubarinova-Kochina, V.M. Shestakov, F.B. Abutaliev, U.U. Umarov and more. others [66;22-p., 77;39-p.].
In 1966 V.P. Pilatovsky [ 65;309-p. ] improved the method of electrohydrodynamic analogies (EGDA), proposed by N.N. Pavlovsky. In 1943, G.N. Kamensky introduced the numerical method of finite differences in hydrogeology. In the monograph by I.K. Gavich "Theory and practice of modeling in hydrogeology" [19;358-p.] a detailed review of the modeling process is given. Since the 1990s, the development of the scientific filtration school of NII VODGEO has been continued by Professor N.P. Kuranov [46; 42-p.]. No less significant contribution to the development of modeling was made by domestic scientists and neighboring countries V.I. Aravin, I.K. Gavich, G.N. Kamensky, A.B. Lebedev, E.A. Lomakin, V.A. Mironenko, A.A. Samarsky, V.M. Shestakov and others [26;258-p., 66;22-p.].
Of the foreign researchers on filtration modeling, the greatest role was played by M.R. Anderson, J. Bear, CABrebbia, JFWang, O. Zienkiewich, W. Karplus, SPLarson, GPLennon, J.A. Liggett, L. Luckner, T. GFPinder, DWPeaceman, KRRushton, I.Remson, YKCheung, PCTrescott, DKTodd, HSHele-Shaw, GMHornberger and others [26;258-p.].
As is known, the most acceptable worldwide method for modeling groundwater filtration during flood protection is a numerical calculation on a computer. Analog modeling does not meet the requirements of the day; such installations as EGDA, BUSE and USM have gone out of production. Physical modeling of filtration in soil flumes is of a subordinate nature and is used in the study of single filtration effects. The potential of computer technology provides ample opportunities for a powerful database, characterized by the content of extensive cartographic and factual information with a mandatory connection with a topographic map.
At present, mathematical modeling of hydrogeological processes in computers and computer devices is being carried out at a fast pace when calculating the elements of the balance of underground groundwater. In the scientific works of such researchers as F.B. Abutaliev, N.N. Khodzhibaev, U.U. Umarov, I. Khabibullaev, Zh. .Chebotareva and others. In hydrogeology and engineering geology, reclamation hydrogeology, methods are being developed to determine the amount of groundwater seeping into interconnected underground water-retaining layers [9; 27 b, 71; 95 b].
A.A.Akramov, I.Khabibullaev, Zh.Kh.Jumanov, I.N.Gracheva and others developed methods, algorithms and software systems for calculating the flow rate of wells and flow rates in underground water intake structures, coastal water intakes of canals and rivers [8; 14 b, 41; 19 b, 86; 156 b].
A number of hydrogeological modeling programs have been developed in the USA, Denmark, Russia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan and other leading scientific centers.
