Government actions and Procurements in combating corruption 
Uzbekistan undertook a number of key reforms in the area of anti-corruption policies. 
The adopted Law “On Anti-Corruption”(2016,13th December) established the legal

framework for the activities in this area and mechanisms for the implementation of anti-
corruption measures. Its implementation was supported by national and departmental
action plans, which were updated and published on a regular basis. Statements made
at the highest level of the country pledging commitment to fight corruption had a positive 
effect improving openness and transparency of government and local public authorities and 
facilitating dialogue with representatives of the non-governmental sector. 
Uzbekistan has carried out a vast number of anti-corruption awareness and
training measures, organised by the government authorities or together with representatives 
of the civil society or with their support. These measures have been stipulated in the
AntiCorruption Law, reflected in the national programme and in departmental action plans. 
In addition, anti-corruption training programmes have been introduced across
educational establishments.
The efforts applied by Uzbekistan to introduce e-government tools and make
use of modern technologies in providing the general public with services and information 
have a positive anti-corruption effect.Anti-corruption agency of Uzbekistan have made 
attempts to introduce modern information technologies, including artificial intelligence in
the fight against corruption.The Agency has established cooperation with international
organizations and other countries in this regard. 
Improving the organizational and legal mechanisms of direct fight against corruption 
and increasing the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures are identified as one of the 
important tasks in the priority area of Action Strategy for the five priority areas of 
development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 which identifies the most 
important directions of the country’s development, aimed at ensuring the rule of law and 
further reforming the judicial system. 
Furthermore, As an integral continuation of these reforms, as a logical
continuation of the Strategy of actions, the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 
2022
–2026 was adopted. The Development Strategy sets out the “100 Goals of Human
Dignity” in seven priority areas. The fight against corruption is also separately identified
among these priority goals. The initiated reforms in this regard will also be consistently 
continued and the task shall be to bring them to a new level. In particular, the State
Program outlines the tasks of transforming public administration based on the principle
of “directing to the service of citizens”, introducing a compact, professional, fair, highly
efficient system of public administration, introducing standards of integrity in civil service,
identifying areas and sectors prone to corruption, increasing efficiency system of 
elimination of corruption factors, formation of an intolerant attitude towards corruption in 
society.
