Greeting:
Greet participants as they enter the room to model greeting routines.
Activity 1: Agenda
Point to the agenda on the board to model a start-up routine.
Ask:
What’s today’s agenda?
What is the objective for today?
Activity 2: Bicycle Chain
If you haven’t introduced an attention grabber, introduce one before beginning the bicycle chain. It can be a chant, clapping, or ringing a bell.
Count off 1-2 to divide Mentees into 2 lines.
Ask 1s to stand in a line at the front of the room.
Ask 2s to stand in front of the 1s so that they are face-to-face.
Ask Question 1.
Give Mentees 1 minute to discuss the question.
Use an attention grabber to get the Mentees’ attention.
Ask 1s to take one step to their left so that everyone has a new partner.
Repeat Question 1 with the new partner.
Ask 1s to take one step to their left so that everyone has a new partner.
Change the question to Question 2 and repeat the process.
