According to Kara and Kathleen Blake Yancey, a writing process is a series of 
actions that writers take in the course of producing a text that satisfies their purposes 
and the expectations of their readers. [6]35 
From the viewpoints that were mentioned above, we considered including some 
helpful suggestions for teachers in order to help them to teach writing to ESL learners. 
The following are some recommendations for instructing writing: 
• Teach learners necessary stages which can be serve as basis for writing: 
brainstorming, writing a first draft, revising, editing, etc. 
• Provide models of successful writing samples and discuss the points that make 
them effective. 
• Discuss audience expectations of perfect writing and the way different genres 
use different writing styles. 
• Select writing topics that are both interesting to the students and helpful to 
grasp to use in future writing. 
• Teach learners real-life writing tasks like filling out forms, letters, charts, etc. 
• Help learners to develop a habit of writing. Because practice makes perfect
• Explain learners benefits of repeating, rewriting their works and to form 
willingness to change, write differently after receiving comments or critiques from 
other people. 
• Encourage ESL learners to think and express their thoughts in target language 
without using their mother tongue
• Make them write blogs about their life, experiences, or daily activities in 
English. 
• Make them to write feedback after each writing lesson, by doing so learners 
develop a habit of writing
