Abstract. This article provides examples of the experience of using the Fact 
checking platform in a modern media structure. The author gives recommendations
presents the disadvantages and advantages in this area.

Currently, a significant part of the world's population has access to the global 
Internet. According to the Global Social Media Research Summary 2019 survey by 
Smart Insights, the number of Internet users in January 2019 reached 4,021 billion 
(53% of the world's population), which is 7% more than in 2018. The number of social 
network users was 3.196 billion (42% of the world's population), which is 13% more 
than in 2018. Taking into account the global population of more than 7.5 billion, these 
indicators inform a significant increase in the number of Internet and social network 
users

The Internet remains a major source of information for the global consumers of 
information and social networks. Electronic media also disseminates information 
through their respective profiles and channels. This is because they spend all their time 
online on social media. However, at a closer look, some have used it for some other 
purpose, such as the popularity of the internet and its social networks, changing 
attitudes to time and space, and increasing globalization. While some of them are trying 
to create PR, some of them aim to discredit someone, to stir up panic among the 
population, to spread slander and to destroy the public image. Research shows that 
millions of untruths are reported every day on the Internet, especially on social 
networks. The consequences are different. Some are of little value, and some are
