The methodological basis of the dissertation research was the main provisions of philosophy on the connection between thinking and language, the works of domestic and foreign psychologists on the patterns of perception of foreign speech, linguists and methodologists in foreign, Uzbek and Uzbek languages.
Research methods:
linguistic (comparative and typological analysis of the sound systems of the contacting languages);
theoretical (study and analysis of programs, textbooks, linguistic, methodological, psychological literature on the problem under study);
sociolinguistic (analysis of the functions of the Uzbek, English and Uzbek languages, the study of their mutual influence);
The theoretical significance of the dissertation lies in the fact that a comparative analysis of the sound systems of the contacting languages ​​(Uzbek, Uzbek, English) was carried out for methodological purposes. This will make it possible to introduce into scientific circulation information about the types of interlingual interference, the patterns of perception and reproduction of the sounds of a second non-native language in the absence of an English-speaking speech environment.
Practical significance. The results of the study can be used in the practice of teaching English to students of the Uzbek school. The data of comparative analysis are suitable for the development of the language competence of philology students of a national university.
The materials presented in the dissertation are promising in terms of compiling teaching aids, and can also be used in writing term papers and theses, developing special courses on the theory and methodology of teaching English pronunciation in a national school.
