CONTENT Introduction CHAPTER I. Comparative analysis of the sound structure of languages of different systems Methodological orientation of the comparative analysis of the sound systems of languages, contacting languages Vowel phonemes of different system languages CHAPTER II. Psychological processes associated with the formation of pronunciation skills Comparative analysis of articulatory characteristics of vowels in English Methodology for the formation of pronunciation skills Conclusion References Introduction The relevance of the research problem. In the absence of an English-speaking environment, the development of pronunciation skills occupies a special place in the formation of oral speech in English. This is explained by the fact that without the practical mastery of the sound system it is impossible to master the language, since this is the basis for the practical assimilation of both native and non-native languages. “Active mastery of a non-native language (including a foreign language - P.A.) requires almost one hundred percent knowledge of phonology, and knowledge of grammar - at least fifty to ninety percent. At the same time, you can often get by with one (or even less) percent of the dictionary. Our long-term observations of the speech of Uzbek students, special experiments conducted in grades 5-6 of the Uzbek school show that the basis for the initial formation of speech in English is the development of pronunciation skills. The main causes of interlingual sound interference, violations of the pronunciation norms of the English language by students can be identified only on the basis of an analysis of psycho and extralingenetic, linguistic, comparative-typological data. A comprehensive study of these factors will make it possible to identify patterns of perception and pronunciation of the sounds of the English language in the flow of speech by Uzbek students.1 Taking into account the fundamental importance of the methodology of teaching English pronunciation in the initial teaching of the English language, the lack of development of this problem in terms of linguomethodology, the place of the sound system in early English teaching, we have chosen the topic of the dissertation research “Methods for the formation of English pronunciation skills in students of the 5th grade of the Uzbek school” . In the absence of an English-speaking speech environment, the main center for the practical mastery of a foreign language is the school, the purposeful teaching of English to Uzbek-Uzbek bilinguals. The formation of pronunciation skills in English is hampered to a certain extent by the lack of special teaching aids for teaching the pronunciation of foreign languages, compiled taking into account the interfering influence of native and Uzbek languages.
