Chapter I General facts about Charles Dickens

1.1.Early life of Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens, an English writer and social critic, created the most famous fantasy heroes in the world and is considered by many to be the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. He was born in 1812. As a child, Charles lived a happy life. He had many brothers and sisters. When Charles started school, his hobby was reading. But when Dickens was 11, his life changed. At the time, his family was living in London. They faced financial problems. His father could not afford to pay the family bills. Eventually, officials sent his family to a special prison for people in debt. Dickens was older than his other brothers and did not go to prison. After this incident, he began to live an independent life. She left school to feed herself. In those days he worked in a factory and made very little money. Conditions in the factory were harsh, and little Charles worked hard, alone.
His future novels were greatly influenced by his years working in the factory. Many writers have pointed out that Dickens’s heroes are so alive that we believe they are real. This is also the reason why Dickens experienced almost all the difficult conditions as a child.
Two years later, with Charles Dickens, the situation changed again. Her grandmother died. The Dickens family inherited wealth from him. The money was enough to pay the family bill. The rest of the Dickens family was released from prison, and Charles left the factory.
Soon Dickens began writing for newspapers and magazines. He also started writing short stories. After the publication of his first book, Sketches of the Gray, Dickens married Catherine Hogart. The couple had 10 children. In the 1850s, the great writer suffered two heavy losses: the death of his daughter and the death of his father. He also divorced his wife in 1858.1
In April 1836, he published his first book, The Pickwick Papers. This book was a huge success, but it was only the first of many stories about Dickens.
Dickens' novels are published monthly or weekly. This was the beginning of the publication of a series of fiction, which should have been the main method of publishing novels in the Victorian era. Because it took time for the audience’s feedback, Dickens was able to change the plot and develop the protagonists based on feedback.
Dickens chose the style of picaresque novels he finds on his father’s shelves. Another important influence of Charles Dickens ’literary style can be found in the tales of A Thousand and One Nights.
During the Dickens period, children were exploited and forced to work in harsh conditions. Victorian society was largely a middle class that believed in strong morals and ethical values. However, they did nothing else to help them or change their situation. The children were abused. Dickens successfully described the cruelty of children in the 19th century. He aroused the sympathy of the students for the terrible living conditions of the children. The driving force of economic development was the Industrial Revolution, which began in the mid-18th century but caused many social problems. One of the main problems is the growth of child labor.
So the main theme of his novels is the problems of childhood and poverty. What was the general message in most of Charles Dickens ’books? Charles Dickens communicates throughout the novel; Charity, kindness, family, kindness and humility as moral messages, but I personally think the strongest and most important messages of Charles Dickens are kindness, family and charity, but I will consider all ethical messages because they all play an important role the writing style is distinguished bysatire and its pronunciation caricature. Another important aspect about Dickens writings is the attractive names he used in his novels.1
