When the frequency is less than the critical frequency, in ACI without CD, commutation failure and inverter overturning occur, while due to the presence of additional gates ACI with CD maintains operability. The inclusion of additive diodes in the AIT circuit ensures that the switching stability of the inverter is maintained when the load current increases, since the additive diodes allow the highest appearing voltage on the switching capacitor to be maintained between commutations, making the voltage on the switching capacitor independent of the load voltage.
