Intensive: this refers to the creation of appropriate vocabulary in the context of, phrases and idioms, as well as correct grammatical features up to a sentence long.
Responsive: Assessment tasks here require students to perform at a limited level of discourse, connecting sentences into a paragraph and creating a logically connected sequence of two or three paragraphs. The attention focused on form is mainly focused on the level of discourse, with a strong emphasis on context and meaning.
Extensive writing implies successful management of all processes and strategies writing for any purpose, up to the volume of an essay, a term paper, a report on a major research project or even a dissertation. Students focus on achieving a goal by logically organizing and developing ideas, using details to support or illustrate ideas, demonstrating syntactic and lexical diversity, and in many cases participating in the process of several drafts to obtain the final product.
The introductory part of any written communication should be specially designed in such a way as to concretize the essence of the issue that gave rise to writing. The motivational part serves for a consistent and detailed description of various aspects of the issue under discussion. Depending on its complexity and novelty, the motivational part may include from one to three or more paragraphs. The final part of a written message usually consists of one paragraph, which contains conclusions, as well as a request (suggestion, indication) to the addressee and the nature of expectations the author of the letter, in which thoughts should be organized in a logical sequence. For this purpose, it is recommended to try brainstorming methods, such as mapping, enumeration or taking notes, which help organize thoughts in such a way that they are clearly understood [1, p. 5]. To get the desired result, the following order should be followed:
1) at the very beginning, state the purpose of writing
2) provide the addressee with some context in order to have some frame of reference for the issue under discussion. Responding to someone else 's a letter, you can either include or reformulate the sender's message;
3) use paragraphs to separate thoughts (each thought in a paragraph);
4) specify the desired result or the answer that is required;
5) check grammar, spelling, capital letters and punctuation.
The skills acquired during these exercises will allow future IT specialists to work professionally, competently and quickly with foreign clients, contractors and business partners.
