- Swimming is a great way to maintain lifelong fitness and wellness. It is also a great way to stay cool in the summer and keep active in the winter. The City has something for everyone! We offer a wide range of high quality and affordable instructional programs including learn to swim, training to be a lifeguard, developmental leadership skills, water sports and more!

General Information - General Information
- Change Room Age Requirements
- Children seven years of age or older are required to use the change room designated for their gender. If these accommodations do not work for you, please speak to facility staff to make alternate arrangements.
- Swimming Attire
- When using the pool, all swimmers must change from street clothes to a swim suit and/or clean clothing used for swimming only. Clothing worn in the pool must permit individuals to participate safely in programs.
- For swimmers who are not toilet-trained, we recommend wearing specially designed swim diapers or pants. Cotton diapers are only permitted if snug fitting pants or swim suit are worn to cover the diaper. Ordinary disposable diapers are not permitted. Once immersed in water, the absorbent material in disposable diapers becomes too saturated causing pieces to break off and clog the pool’s filtration system.
- Gender Specific Swim Programs
- When participating in gender specific swim programs (women or men-only), only people of the same gender will be permitted to access the pool deck, spectator gallery or viewing areas.
- Note the following exceptions:
- • Caregivers/parents who are participating in a program (e.g., guardian, leisure swim) can bring children 0-7 years old of either gender to gender-specific programming.
- • Children 0-7 years old of either gender will be allowed in the spectator designated areas, where available and when appropriate supervision by a guardian of the is present.

- Those with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual knowledgeable of their condition and responsible for their direct supervision. Individuals are advised to consult a medical doctor before swimming.

- To ensure that children have a safe and enjoyable swimming experience, the City of Toronto has implemented a wristband procedure. This procedure allows staff to identify children at greater risk of accidents and ensure adequate supervision when in the pool area. All children 9 years of age and under will be given an identifying wristband by the facility staff. To determine requirements and identifying wristband colour, refer to the following chart:

- Admittance Requirements for Day Camps and Groups
- All groups should make arrangements with the pool prior to their arrival. Before entering the facility, groups must sign in with facility staff. Group caregiver(s) are entirely responsible for the supervision of their group at all times.

- Rookie Patrol
- (9 yrs+) Prerequisite: Ultra 8
- Components include: timed 100-metre swims, 350-metre workouts and swims with clothes. Develops swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on personal responsibility for Water Smart behaviour.
- Ranger Patrol
- (9 yrs+) Prerequisite: Ultra 9
- Components include: timed 200-metre swims, 100-metre fitness medley and support/carry a five-pound weight. Content is challenging but achievable with effort. Drills improve rescue abilities in the water.
- Star Patrol
- (9 yrs+) Prerequisite: Ultra 9
- Components include: timed 300-metre swims, 600-metre workouts, lifeguard whistle signals, and airway and bleeding first aid priorities. Demands good physical conditioning and lifesaving judgement.
