The first is The Natural Order Hypothesis
It claims that we learn linguistic conventions in a predictable order, with certain conventions coming early and others later (Krashen, 1985). It is mostly related to language rules and their use. More interestingly, in this case, giving a language instruction is more vital. In order to use this hypothesis into practice I created an activity which help my target learner to improve her grammar skill with the help of speaking. I used deductive approach which firstly grammar rule is represented with different patterns then students’ comprehension will be tested. Grammar topic : Present Perfect Speaking topic: Snowball game: What I have done this week. Steps of the lesson: Warm –up video about forms of verbs in Present perfect. It is a chance to revise Participle 2. Teach learners affirmative form of Present Perfect with some interactive and helpful visuals Distribute them some integrated Present perfect grammar tests After that it is turn to speaking activity. A Teacher asks learners what have they done this week? It is like a chain the first student says what he has done this week and the next student repeats previous learner’s sentence then says his or her own sentence. It continues until one of the learners breaks the chain. At last there will be given homework which learners have to make 10 affirmative Present Perfect sentences by themselves. Justification To justify my hypothesis into task or experiment, I affirm that this hypothesis is really helpful for both teachers and SL learners who have a burning desire to improve their grammar knowledge and accuracy via some tests, individual tasks and some speaking activities. In a number of tasks and modalities, adult and child SL learners from various first language backgrounds show a startling consistency in the accuracy order for a group of English grammatical morphemes.( Long, 1983).Furthermore the place of instructions in this circumstance is very vital. Whatever role instruction plays in a theory of SLA, the research we've discussed here have effects on language teaching specialists. Simply put, instruction is beneficial for everyone, regardless of their degree of skill, the wider language context in which they receive it, or the type of test they will take. Long (1983) noted that instructions are particularly helpful in the early phases of SLA and/or in contexts with low levels of acquisition (p. 21).After using this hypothesis my target learner Sara is able to use accurate grammar in her speech and communication with her peers. In terms of Nicos ,he is able to speak more fluently and can communicate without any hesitation. Download 45.82 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
