The second is The Monitor Hypothesis
This hypothesis describes the application of acquisition and learning in the production process. Our ability to form words in a different language stems from our ingrained proficiency and intuitive understanding. It takes much time to be grammatical accuracy and interrupt communication process. This hypothesis is suitable for my both learners. Because it is mostly connected to grammar. There are 3 conditions: they are time, paying attention to form and rule. Grammar topic: -ed and –ing adjectives ( passive and active adjectives) Speaking topic: Describe your favourite subject and its teacher.( the usage of –ed and –ing adjectives) Steps of the lesson: Bring some visuals to describe Teach students how to use -ed and ing adjectives Provide them some printed examples Give them 10 minutes to describe their favorite subject and teacher by using active and passive adjectives After that they will start to describe the topic, at first, there may be some pauses and hesitation about usage of adjectives they hear other students’ description. By hearing their speech they can evaluate their description and do some self-corrections. At the end of the lesson they will be given making some sentences about learnt grammar topic. Justification Krashen (1985) stated that the performer must be aware of the need for accuracy and possess knowledge of the rule (p. 3).For Sara it is a way to improve her grammar knowledge while Nicolas has a chance to improve his speaking skill by description. As a result of our ingrained proficiency and innate knowledge, we are able to construct sentences in another language.
