IMPROVING COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS: GET PUPILS TALK IN
FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Circa appreciable four years ago, I have taken responsibility of being teacher in one of the
prestigious lyceums in my country. Upon having adjusted to the academic lyceum, I figured out the
fact that many foreign language teachers put grammar into the first place while they are teaching
students. In fact, my method of teaching was somehow different from theirs’, and by dint of my
determined character I barely realized that I should not abandon my own style. More specifically, I
have been endeavoring hard to involve all main skills in English (Listening, Reading, Writing,
Speaking, and Grammar) by taking speaking as a keynote of them. In reality, it did not come with
ease but I patiently tried and even was refused by the audience that I was not teaching properly, but
years proved that focusing on communicative skills serves to improve other four competences.
I want to share numerous methods that I used to get my students talk in English language in
this article. Firstly and mostly, I deeply understand that I cannot push the button and get my fresher
students speak with confidence, but there I am to encourage them to shape
