After you listen
a. Transfer time
- At the end of the listening section, you have ten minutes to transfer your
answers to the answer sheet.
- Transfer your answers quickly and accurately, making sure you write
neatly and inside the box.
b. Spelling
- You need to be very careful with spelling.
- If you make a spelling mistake you will be marked wrong.
c. Use abbreviations (short forms of words)
- You can use common abbreviations such as cm for centimetres, $ for
dollars, £ for pound and St for street.
- Abbreviations will save you time when you are transferring your answers.
d. Practice writing dates
- When you write dates, you should use the following format: date, month,
year (if the year is required). For example, 12th July 2015.
e. Write with accurate grammar
- For gap-fill answers, you must write with correct grammar.
- Common mistakes include: no verb agreement and no plural ‘s’.
f. Make intelligent guesses
- You do not lose marks for incorrect answers so you should attempt to
answer all forty questions.
