The properties of metals are divided into physical, chemical, mechanical and technological.
Physical properties include color , specific gravity, fusibility, electrical conductivity, magnetic properties, thermal conductivity, heat capacity , thermal expansion.
All metals under normal conditions have a high specific gravity. According to the specific gravity, light and heavy metals are distinguished. Of the technical metals, magnesium is the lightest, and tungsten is the heaviest.
Conductivity is the transfer of electricity by free electrons. The electrical conductivity of metals is higher than the electrical conductivity of non-metallic bodies. Metals are less electrically conductive at high temperatures, and as the temperature decreases, thermal conductivity increases.
