Where did this story happen?

This story happened when the Australian Airbus 320 departed from Adelaide.

What happened shortly after departure?

After departure the loud bang was heard, the airplane shuddered and streaks of flames were seen out of the right hand engine and then all the lights on the right wing stopped working.

What did the crew do?

The crew shut off the engine number two.

How many minutes did it take the crew to return to Adelaide?

About 30 minutes.

What did the spokesman say about the incident?

The spokesman sad about some sparks may have been seen by some passengers.

Were the appropriate emergency services alerted? What services are usually on stand-by in such situations?

•Yes. The airplane taxied to the apron with the emergency services in attendance. As usual it is fire brigade and ambulance.
Pilot: We're turning back to Lohoa I think it was the engine... the engine fell off.

The Boeing 707-3ЗОС cargo plane, owned by Azza Transport and operated by Sudan Airways, was on a cargo flight from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, bound to Khartoum, Sudan. Six crew members were onboard. The plane was destroyed when it crashed in a desert area immediately after takeoff, killing everyone onboard

The images from an airport surveillance camera show the Boeing 707 apparently departing normally to Khartoum. But within 15 seconds two frames of the footage show an unidentified object apparently dropping to the ground and. another 15 seconds later, the aircraft rapidly descending, in a steep bank, to the right of the departure path, and crashed.

The plane crashed near the Emirates Road, broke up and exploded. Meteorological data at the time of the accident shows no evidence of adverse weather conditions.
