STUDY OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF PAPER 
 
The purpose of the work: to get acquainted with the methods of evaluating the 
whiteness and transparency of paper using the Spectrodensitometer ET-120HD, to 
study the optical scheme of the densitometer. 
Tools and equipment: 
Spectrodensitometer ET-120HD 
Field of application 
The densities of the areas of the scales in the copy are controlled using a 
densitometer. Changes in dye transfer by density values are easily detected. 
In order to measure copies made on different colors of printing inks, light 
filters are placed in the densitometer in the path of rays coming from this light 
source. Color filters are adapted to the spectral properties of triad colors (CMYK). 
The maximum transmission of colored light filters should be located in the zone 
corresponding to the minimum of the measured paint reflection.
