SEMANTICS OF DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS IN KARAKALPAK LANGUAGE
Abstract
The article deals with demonstrative pronouns in the Karakalpak language. These pronounsare studied in
comparison with English.
At the same time, the differences between the demonstrative
pronouns in the two
languages are explained with examples.

Demonstrative pronouns are distinguished by the fact that what they refer to has a definite and indefinite
meaning in terms of their relation to space and time: Demonstrative pronouns that express a definite meaning can
be of two kinds depending on the closeness of space and time.For example:
a) the pronoun "usi" (this) means an event or thing that is close to the speaker in terms of distance and time:
Men usi institutta oqiyman ( I study at this institution (the institute the speaker is pointing to or the institution the
speaker was talking about before and now he remembers));
