Introduction
Self-Reflection Report
On
Microteaching-1
Self-reflection is like looking into a mirror and describing what one sees. It is a way of assessing
one’s performance, one’s ways of working.
Self-reflection is an
important element to any form
of teaching and/ or learning. So it
is equally significant for both students and teachers. It gives
them
information about their
teaching and/
or learning
. It works like self-criticism/self-
monitoring. Making the teachers and the students aware of their blind self, self-reflection helps
them improve their
teaching and/ or learning
career.
My first microteaching class was with the elementary group of students
in BRAC Institute if
Language (BIL) on 23 June 2016. This was our first class with the group. The class comprised of
the
students of class nine, ten and eleven. Therefore, it is clear
that it was a mixed ability
classroom. The class was conducted by a group of four since it was divided into four segments.
I initiated the very first segment of the microteaching class on the
day on grammar - Present
Perfect and Simple Past Tense.
My objective of the first class was to make students understand the difference between Present
Perfect and Simple Past Tense, and make the correct use of them in their real life.
