PREJUDICE OF SIMILARITIES
Many people mistakenly believe that some similarities exist among all people in the world; they believe that everyone is similar since they are all human, which is one explanation for why misconceptions happen.
Unfortunately, huge differences in values, beliefs, and attitudes between cultures are frequently disregarded. Even when it lessens the agony of coping with difference, the cliché "people are people" is a trap.Although the expectation of a shared verbal language is not frequently included in the assumption of similarity, it does make it more difficult to decode nonverbal symbols, signs, and signals. A person's cultural background impacts whether or not they will show their emotions, as well as when and how much they will do so. Because humans are in many ways dependent on their culture, there are cultural differences in the circumstances that cause emotional feelings as well.
Conclusion
"Stereotypes are necessary, so that we can even imagine things we know just very little about. For example, I know hardly anything about Philippines, and whenI have to think about it, I have just a couple of ideas. I don’t really know them, but i’ve scraped together some random pieces of knowledge. An Asian country, islands, people must look Asian. I think there’s democracy and problems in equality… what else? Even these pieces help me to think about the area, even though the picture is very simple and possibly partly false. If you don’t know Finland, you may have same kind of pieces and the picture you form, will be a stereotype. But that’s all you’ve got.Human minds seem to also classify things, form categories. You can think many categories as stereotypes. I don’t know how we can stop categorizing things.I believe that we all have more stereotypes than internalized knowledge about most of the world.Of course I always support the idea of deepening our knowledge, but it’s impossible to know well but a tiny fraction of things." Robert Pucket.
in the above opinion, it was also said about the people of Central Asia, that is, about us. This is an opinion about us, that is, a stereotype. Stereotypes are different for everyone, just like opinions. For example, when I was looking for information, I heard the stereotypical opinion of Americans about Uzbeks. And it was both positive and negative. The positive opinion is that the people of Uzbekistan are hardworking and sincere. The negative opinion is that Uzbek women are not independent or free.
Stereotypes are often unfair and untrue belief that many people have about all people or things with a particular characteristic. Inequalities in society are a common source of stereotypes, bias, and discrimination. ideas gleaned from friends, relatives, and/or the media about other people/groups. avoiding spending a lot of time with those who are unlike you in some manner
Stereotypes with negative use
Obsession with guns.
.Materialism, over-consumption, and extreme capitalism.
.Lack of cultural awareness.
.Racism and racialism.
.Environmental ignorance. Arrogance and nationalism.Stereotypes have two main purposes: a knowledge purpose (they represent and organize information about groups, for example) and a justification purpose (e.g., they rational- ize observed or experienced group differences).
