Perspective

The problem of an article is its edge, nerve, an indication of a contradiction, a topical issue or a set of problematic issues interconnected with the object of consideration [13].
Reading a simple article is uninteresting. Some publications may refuse to publish on this basis. The topic should have a topic of interest to the reader of this publication and respond to his request.
In this regard, a separate task of the novice author - to review their experience and see in it what will be relevant for colleagues, students of specialized specialties, specialists or researchers in your or related fields. If your experience lies in the field of social services of the population, it may well be interesting and professionals from the institution of education, health, science, culture. A problematic article is able to attract the attention of a wide range of readers interested in social policy, regardless of their area of employment. Allow yourself to allow this, and perhaps your idea will sparkle with new colors.
Depending on the experience of the author, his interests and skills, the article may address the following issues:
• practices;
• theories;
• application of theory in practice,
• explanations of practice from the theoretical side.
For a specialist with little experience, a problematic is more suitable, showing how the principles, patterns, methods and techniques described in the literature and studied by him are used in his work. The article may present his practical experience as an illustration of some ideas and principles. The more modern, original and fresh ideas the author illustrates, the more likely that his article will be of interest not only to his colleagues, but also to research scientists.
An experienced specialist is quite capable of analyzing his practice and drawing conclusions and generalizations, and raising problematic issues. Depending on whether the author only asks questions or also reflects, gives answers, shares his proposals, formulates a request for research, puts forward a rationale for the pattern he found in a practical way, the article will have a different rating from the reader.
Articles in which the author deduces a new pattern, makes a discovery of theoretical significance are of the greatest value for science. But for an ordinary reader, such materials are not always of interest due to the need for deep immersion in the topic, which makes the article difficult to understand without special training and knowledge of terminology and research methodology.
If you can explain complex things in an accessible language, illustrating them with examples from your work, your articles will be of interest to a wide range of readers.
You will find all these variants of topics and issues on the pages of publications of a scientific and practical orientation. The choice in which of them and with what you will publish is yours.

3.5. Where to publish?

The list of professional publications publishing articles on the theory and practice of social work is quite large. These are, for example, magazines such as Social Worker, Social Work, Social Work: Theory, Technology, Education, and others. You can request information about all available publications on the website www.elibrary.ru. It makes sense to get to know them better, study articles on topics close to you, get acquainted with the style, headings, and requirements for articles.
The St. Petersburg city information and methodological center "Semya" works with authors and assists them in the preparation of articles aimed at summarizing and disseminating effective forms and methods of social, pedagogical and psychological work with families and children in social service organizations. An article by a novice author can be published in the following publications of the Center:
serial thematic scientific and methodological collection "Social services for families and children" [15];
periodical “Social work: theory, methods, practice. Materials of Internet conferences and seminars” [14];
electronic journal “Practice of social work. An open methodological resource” [20].
We would like to draw your attention to the electronic journal “Practice of social work. An open methodological resource”, which has a number of undoubted advantages for a novice author. Firstly, it has the opportunity to publish not only articles, but also author's programs, as well as various types of methodological products developed and implemented in organizations specializing in the provision of social services and receive a certificate of publication.
Secondly, the journal does not have such restrictions as paper editions on the number of articles published in the issue. Provided that the material suits the editors, you will not have to wait long for publication and compete with venerable professionals for the right to get a place on the magazine page.
Thirdly, the headings in the publication “The Practice of Social Work. Open Methodological Resource" are quite diverse, and you can easily find one in which your article will be relevant. See for yourself by reading the list of headings:
• Issues of education
• Graduates of organizations for orphans and children left without parental care
• Orphans and children left without parental care
• Domestic violence
• Information and educational materials
• Personnel. Staff development
• Cultural and leisure activities
• Methodological support of social service institutions
• Support for socially excluded groups
• Subject-developing environment
• Social work programs
• Career guidance
• Psychological and pedagogical assistance
• Early help, early intervention
• Rehabilitation of disabled people and children with disabilities
• Parent school
• Family values
• Creation
• Health enhancing technologies
• Point of view
• Third age - new opportunities
• Management. Control
• Effective interaction and social partnership
Fourthly, the editorial policy of the journal is designed to reach a wide audience of readers, in connection with which the author can experiment with style and, in addition to the classic article of a scientific and practical nature, try himself in such genres as:
• Overview (types of existing institutions, practices, working methods, clients, etc., with or without comparison).
• Historical overview (what and how was done before and why it is good / bad, what lesson can we learn from this).
• News article (recent changes in the system of work and the resulting effects).
• Step-by-step instructions (how to make a document, training, a cycle of classes; how to achieve such and such a result in such and such).
• Review article (review of an event, training, program).
• An article-forecast (what this or that trend can lead to - based on the analysis of statistics).
• Critical article (problems and shortcomings in the application of any method, the use of technology, etc.).
• Essay (figurative representation of facts, people and events, appeal to the feelings of the reader).
Summing up a little acquaintance with the basics of writing articles, let us once again draw your attention to the fact that in the future, when directly formulating the topic and determining the intention of your future article, you will proceed from:
1) your experience and your professional interest;
2) your level of awareness in the topic;
3) the relevance of the issue and the reader's request;
4) the genre of the article that is interesting and feasible for you;
5) focus of the publication and its headings.
And now we are moving on to the practical part and begin to learn how to create an
