Objectives

  • To gain an understanding of what CEFRL is.

  • To familiarise with a variety of test formats including KET, PET, FCE, IELTS, and TKT

  • To learn to practice independently and establish control over the direction of their study.

Learning Outcomes

  • understand the main aspects of CEFRL

  • be able to deliver KET, PET, FCE, IELTS, and TKT tests specifications to in-service teachers

  • be able to practice independently without guidance.

Student responsibility in relation to assessment:
If there is any doubt with regard to the requirements of any particular component or assessment procedure, the onus for clarifying the issue rests with the Trainee who should contact the Trainer about the matter.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
The CEFR is an internationally recognised framework that describes 6 levels of language ability from A1 for beginners up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. The CEFR is used by organisations all over the world as a reliable benchmark of language ability.
