“MUBAYYIN”(“Mubayan”) – It is a name of Babur’s book. The book devoted to believers of Islam and “fikh (religious law or shariat)”. It was written in the XVI ^th century in Uzbek language and considered as the only book in prose outlining religious questions in Uzbek language. Even the title of the book shows its practical slant, as an Arabic word “Mubayin” means “instruction” or “guide” while “Mubayyan” means “narrating, telling”.
Babur dedicated the book to his sons Humanyun and Kamran, explained the rules and traditions of secta of Abu Hanifa (“hanafiya”)mashab in simple and fluent language in mature style.
“Mubain” outlines the five important “rukn” (basis)s of Islam were outlined within five parts of the book every of which begins with “basmala” consisting of totally 2254 bait(line)s. The first part titled as “Etiqodiya”, consists of 296 baits. Introduction, doxology or laudation of heaven, prising of prophet Muhammad (s.a.v.) then begins with “kitobning nazmi sababi” (reasoning of writing) and “Besh farzning te’dodi” (counting all five basis). Later there are outlined basis of belief (credence). There are also explained one by one explanation, features of the God (including Life, knowledge, will, power, hearing and seeing, words, and belief to fate) and another religious knowledge.
The second part is titled “Kitobus-salot” and consists of 980 baits. It mainly deals with rules of praying and namaz. Firstly, it proves that namaz is entreaty of Muslim to the God and underlined basis of the namaz. Later, there is widely outlined topic of ablution. Then there are explained times of praying, qibla (side where to face Mekka), intention of namaz, sunnah, vajib (requirement), mustahab (ablution or washing), moral, makrukh (impure), fosid, qiyom, qiroat, ruku’, sajda (admiration for God), qada and others. Besides there was given information about five times namaz, praying in jamoat (collective), juma (Friday Praying), Iyd, janoza (burial), tarovih and nafl namaz. Additionally, there is outlined the part of “Iyd namozi bayoni (Explanation of Iid namaz)” rules of “fitr sadaqa” (fitr donation), making sacrifice widely.
The third book titled as “Kitobuz-zakot” consists of 190 baits and completely devoted to topic of zakat. There were explained conditions, requirements and exceptions of zakat, meaning of ushr and hiraj in plain and easy way.
The fourth book titled as “Kitobus-savm” and consists of 165 baits. The book talks about the Ramadan or Raza. There are outlined how should be kept fast, disturbance of raza, qazo and kaforat, suspicious deeds in keeping raza, the practices which don’t spoil raza, etikof and others in the book.
“Kitabul-haj” is the fifth book of “Mubain” and devoted to Haj and pilgrimage performance. It consists of 622 baits. There is cited traditions and customs of making Haj and pilgrim. The book ends with conclusion.
