Methods: working in groups, brainstorming, “Strong and weak agreement and disagreement matching”, “Agree/Disagree Line”, “Scaffolding discussions for quiet students”
Objectives:
1. Educational :
Ø to introduce the theme to the pupils;
Ø to introduce the new phrases and their meanings to the pupils,
Ø to practice the new vocabulary;
Ø to work in groups, to discuss the topic
Ø to practice choosing the right translation of the presented vocabulary;
Ø to watch a video for specific and detailed information;
Ø to practice match the words.
2. Socio-cultural:
Ø to enable the pupils to listen to each other’s answers carefully;
Ø to add omitted information;
Ø to learn more about different expression of agreement and disagreement
3. Developing Aim:
Ø to enlarge the pupils’ vocabulary
Ø to develop group working and sharing opinion.
Ø to develop grammar, listening and speaking skills;
Pragmatic competence: being able to understand and interpret situations in oral and written speech, solving problems in a practical and sensible way rather than by having fixed ideas or theories.
