In order to understand the meaning of mathematics, understanding a problem is as important as solving it. It is a widespread view that problem-solving skills help people in their daily lives to easily overcome the problems. A problem-solving person is a self-confident, imaginative, and independent thinker. It can be clarified that these individuals developed communities can readily solve problems. (NurdanÖzreçberoğlu ÇağdaKıvançÇağanağa, 2018). According to Krawec, et. al. (2012) today's math curriculum, math problem solving is an increasingly critical skill. Math problem solving progress is highly correlated with overall math performance (Bryant, Bryant, & Hammill, 2000). One of the most topics to study and also one of the most difficult to teach is mathematical problem solving. The main objective of teaching mathematical problem solving is for students to establish a generic ability to overcome real-life problems and apply mathematics in real-life situations. For a deeper knowledge of definitions, problem solving can also be used as a teaching method. (Dendane, 2009). Problem solving in mathematics education was a notable area of research that aimed at comprehension and relating the processes involved in solving problems to students’ development of mathematical knowledge and problem solving competencies. Mathematical problem solving has long been recognized as an important component of mathematics, the teaching of mathematics, and the learning of mathematics. It has flooded globally mathematics curricula with demands for the teaching of problem solving as well as the teaching of mathematics through problem solving (Peter Liljedahl et al. 2016).
