Hasselbring and Glaser (2000) concluded that the educational use of interactive technologies should encourage the conceptual understanding of students "by connecting visual imagery and sound effects to hard- to-understand details when presented in text alone". Mathematics education researchers agreed that visual representations play significant roles in improving mathematical understanding (Gersten et al., 2009; Griffin & Jitendra, 2009). Bottge's later studies have shown that multimedia has been particularly effective in improving the transition and maintenance capabilities of the students along with their problem-solving skills (Bottge et al., 2001) Bottge used video anchor in the study conducted states that it improve performance in tasks as well as computation and problem-solving skills.
