PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF CLASSROOM (optional)

(state location and physical attributes of classroom, number of students in attendance, layout of room, distractions if any; list any observations of how physical aspects affected content delivery)

The instructor managed to state location and physical attributes of classroom in a perfect way. Moreover, 90% of students were effectively engaged to the class activities.

Strengths observed:There are several strengths of instructor, that I observed in this class.
The instructor professionally

  • Informs learners of skills or understandings expected at the end of the lesson

  • Provides learners with an advance organizer (alerter or bridge) that places the lesson in context

  • Checks for task-relevant prior learning at the beginning of the lesson and reteaches if necessary.

  • Gives directions slowly and distinctly. Checks for understanding along the way.

  • Knows learners ability levels and used media, materials, and procedures at or slightly above the current level of functioning.

  • Uses examples, illustrations, or demonstrations to explain and clarify context in text and workbook.

  • Provides review or summary.

Suggestions for improvement:
My biggest piece of advice to the instructor is to adapt the lesson content style for the online environment and to test the content and refine it based on student reactions. Think about the difference between a meeting or conference where the presenter shows up with a well-structuredPowerPoint presentation used as a visual prompt

Overall impression of teaching effectiveness:

In this lesson classroom procedures and routines were executed consistently by students which helped to maximize instructional time. It was clear that students knew what was expected of them.
In addition, the lesson showedthe instructor established a positive culture for learning. Your students demonstrated a strong effort and consistent commitment to learning the material. Additionally, your enthusiasm for the content, and insistence that all students learn the key concepts added to the positive culture.
