e.g. No sooner had we sat at the table than the phone rang.

4.Past Perfect odatda Past Simple da ifodalangan ish-harakatdan oldin tugagan ish-harakatni ifodalash uchun ishlatiladi. Bunda Past Perfect da ifodalangan ish-harakat oldinroq bo’lganligiga urg’u beriladi.

e.g. Peter invited me to dinner but I had already eaten a sandwitch and drunk coffee.

I had just gone out when you came.
Ya’ni Past Perfect bu Present Perfect ning o’tgan zamondagi ko’rinish.

I am not hungry. I’ve just had lunch. The house is dirty. We haven’t cleaned it for weeks.	I was not hungry. I had just had lunch. The house was dirty. We hadn’t cleaned it for weeks.

5. Lekin agar biz o’tgan zamondagi ketma-ket bajarilgan ish-harakatlar haqida gapirsak, faqat Past Simple ning o’zi kifoya. Past Perfect bu holatda ishlatilmaydi.

e.g. I opened the door of the house, entered and saw that my clothes were not in their place.
6. Past Perfect gapiruvchi oldin biron narsa qilishni istab yoki umid qilib lekin qila olmasli haqida gapiganda ishlatiladi.
e.g. Kate had wanted to visit the British museum but she didn’t have time to go there.
7. O’tgan zamondagi ish-harakatni ifodalashda just va already ishtorok etsa Past Perfect ishlatiladi.

e.g. The film had already began by the time we got to the cinema.
