Past Simple + after + Past Perfect

e.g. I called to Tom after I had finished my work.

3. Bitta harakatdan keyin birdan ikkinchisi kelganini ifodalash uchun quyidagi strukturalar ishlatiladi:

Ega +had+ hardly +V3(ed) +when +ega+ Past Simple

e.g. I had hardly entered the house when it started to rain.

We had hardly finished our work when the boss gave a new task.

Hardly-ulgurmasdan turib

Ega +had+ scarcely +V3(ed) +when +ega+ Past Simple

e.g. Tom had scarcely finished his dinner when his friend called.

They had scarcely sat at the table when the phone rang.

Ega +had+ barely +V3(ed) +when +ega+ Past Simple

e.g. Peter had barely had time to unpack when he decided to go back.
