REFLECTIVE WRITING
2022-2023 Date: __09.06.2023________ Group: ____2109_______ Name: _Zaripova Gulrux _ During my friend's lesson on "inductive and deductive approach in teaching grammar," I found myself engaged in various activities that helped me understand the concept in a practical way. The lesson was interactive and thought-provoking, which made the topic easy to comprehend. My friend started the session by explaining the difference between inductive and deductive approaches and how they are used in teaching grammar. She then gave some examples of each approach, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. I appreciated how she broke down the complex concepts into simple language, making it easy for everyone to understand. After the group activity, my friend provided us with a fill-in-the-gap exercise to test our deductive skills. We were required to use the grammar rules we had learned earlier to complete the sentences. I found this activity challenging, but it helped me understand how deductive reasoning works in teaching grammar. Overall, my friend's lesson on inductive and deductive approaches in teaching grammar was an enriching experience. Not only did it enhance my understanding of the topic, but it also helped me acquire new skills and knowledge that I can apply in my teaching. In creating a context for students, my friend explained that mastering communicative competence will help them to express their ideas and opinions confidently, engage in discussions and debates, and build meaningful relationships. After this, she proceeded with a series of activities that aimed to enhance the communicative competence of students. The first activity was a brainstorming session, where students were divided into small groups. They were given a topic and were instructed to come up with as many ideas as they could in a set timeframe. This activity promoted student interaction and encouraged teamwork, which are both essential skills that support communicative competence. It was impressive to see how my classmates worked together to generate ideas, share thoughts, and express their opinions. The second activity involved role-playing, where groups acted out different scenarios to practice communication skills. My group was assigned a scenario where we had to negotiate with a colleague for a promotion. This activity helped me to understand the importance of active listening and speaking from the point of view of the other person. It showed me how to use language appropriately and communicate effectively to achieve specific goals. Overall, the lesson on "How to improve student's communicative competence" was quite impactful. I learned that improving student's communicative competence is not just about speaking but also about active listening, critical thinking, and collaboration. I plan to use some of these activities in my future teaching. CHECKED BY: Ismoiljonova Sevinch ___________________________________________________________ UzSWLU English Faculty I Download 28.68 Kb.
