emotions in english

Emotive adverbs
The main feature of emotive adverbs is their stability, basically, these are primary nominations like kindly, evil, flattering (96.4%). The centrifugal aspirations of this grammatical class of emotive vocabulary are much higher than the centripetal emotive adverbs easily pass into the category of words of the state category, but hardly admit foreign vocabulary into their composition. And lexical limitation (in comparison with other grammatical emotive classes) is compensated by increased usage in speech, high frequency.
In terms of representing emotions, adverbs differ in their dominant orientation to the state, moreover, to the accompanying state emotively characterizing various actions (sad to look, sad to say), and signs (sad-languorous eyes).
Just like adjectives, adverbs participate in complex emotive nominations, while performing the function of emotional accompaniment. Unlike adjectives, the emotional characterization they carry out does not cover substantive, but primarily indicative (verbal and adjectival) vocabulary. The structure of these nominations is also isomorphic to the seme structure of differential-emotive words with the included emotive-defining seme: to cling / cuddle, gently snuggle, snuggle up to someone.
The specificity of the representation of emotions by adverbs is manifested not in paradigmatics, but primarily in syntagmatics, in the external relations of these words. The grammatical nature of emotive adverbs does not allow them to correlate emotions directly with their carrier, therefore, the connection with the subject of emotions is carried out indirectly in the text, through his actions or through his adjectively expressed signs.
Emotive words of the state category
Words of the category of state, or impersonally predicative words, are a special, primarily functional class of words. Until now, the grammatical nature of this class has not been sufficiently studied, its status in the system of other parts of speech has not been determined. Words of the category of state gravitate toward the adverb, meaningfully toward the name, functionally toward the verb. Their distinguishing feature is monofunctionality: they are adapted to be only the main members of impersonal sentences with state semantics.
Another feature of this class of words is its secondary nature, derivativeness and the resulting regular completion in speech.
All of the above also applies to emotive words of the state category. As part of this grammatical class, there is a clear tendency for the priority image of negative emotions (80% of the emotive words of the state category): anxiety, fear, loneliness, and the vocabulary of melancholy is represented the richest of all (disgusting, disgusting, vile, muddy, disgusting, gloomy, dark, sad, sadly) and grief (sadly, bitterly, poignantly, badly, nastyly, regrettably, hard, awfully, badly). Only 20% of emotive words in the state category depict positive feelings, primarily feelings of joy (fun, lively, excellent, festive, joyful, solemn) and calmness (calm, quiet, good).
In general, this class of words (in the language system) conveys a rather limited range of emotions.
