A train engineer working in the 2nd shunting area is obliged to:
- when entering duty, familiarize yourself with the location of cars on the tracks of the southern neck marshalling yard;
- check whether the cars are connected to each other on the tracks where the shunting work was carried out, and whether they go beyond the limit posts;
-check the fastening of cars with brake shoes, compliance with fastening standards;
-introduce the shunting locomotive driver to the plan for the upcoming work;
- before pulling the train from the sorting yard to the departure yard, make sure that the brake hoses are connected to each other and to the shunting locomotive, and the brakes of the cars are on (at least 40 axles);
- to reduce the downtime of formed trains in the marshalling yard, prepare them in advance for tightening (connecting brake hoses, identifying discrepancies between the longitudinal axes of the automatic coupler more than the established norm).
Temporary occupation of tracks in the departure park by wagons during maneuvers can be allowed by the train compiler in each individual case only with the permission of the DSP. In the departure park, coupling or uncoupling maneuvers can be carried out only on those tracks (switches) that will be indicated by the DSP when giving the order to the train compiler for shunting work. Maneuvers on the main tracks, as well as leaving exit switches, may be permitted by the traffic police with closed corresponding signals protecting the entrance to the tracks and switches on which the maneuvers are being carried out.

A train compiler working in the 3rd and 4th shunting areas is obliged to:
- before moving the shunting train in places where containers and bulk cargo are loaded and unloaded, make sure that there are no obstacles for movement;
- maneuvers with cars whose loading and unloading have been completed should be carried out only after agreement with the employees in charge of loading and unloading operations;
- when driving near high platforms, the compiler’s presence on the special step of the car on the platform side is prohibited;
- if it is necessary for a shunting locomotive to enter the tracks of cargo areas (access roads, cargo yard), the compiler must agree on the possibility of supplying or withdrawing cars with the head of work in this area. The approval procedure is established in the appendix to the TPA station, as well as in the appendix to the instructions for shunting work on a particular access road and cargo yard.
Before pulling the supply to the freight yard, the train compiler is required to connect the brake hoses between the cars (1/3 of the train) in the train, as well as with the shunting locomotive.
