4.11.4 Interpretation of Results. See Table C1 in Appendix C. If the test results are compared with those of
tubes or sleeves, note that tapes are usually used with 50% overlap, i.e., double-layer.
4.12 Resistance to Flame Propagation. Flame resistance will ensure that fire will not be spread by the tape on
a wire harness. The test is to be performed on all adhesive harness tapes.
4.12.1 Procedure. The test is performed according to ISO 3795 and FMVSS 302 on a wiring harness of
seven (7) 1.0 mm

cables wrapped with tape of 50% overlap. The insulating material used for the cables depends
on the temperature class of the tape. See Table 4. The flame resistance will be rated according to Table 5.
