ARNEL PACIANO CASANOVA
Arnel Paciano Casanova is the Executive Director of the Asia Society Philippine Foundation, Inc. Prior to that, he was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, where he worked on some of the biggest public infrastructure and real estate property development projects in the Philippines. As a peace- negotiator, he was one of the youngest recipients of the Philippine Legion of Honor Medal for his work in drafting the General Peace Agreement between the government and the military rebels and the rebels' disarmament and reintegration. He was likewise involved in the initial stages of negotiations with the Moro Islamic
Liberation Front (MILF). He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Law, serving as the College Representative to the University Student Council. As a Mason Fellow and a World Bank Scholar, he graduated from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government with a Masters degree in Public Administration. He pursues his passion in social entrepreneurship in the Philippines and Asia as one of the founders of AvantChange, a social enterprise, established at the Harvard Kennedy School, by being a visiting lecturer at the Ateneo De Manila University School of Government, teaching a course on Social Entrepreneurship. As a governance advocate, he is also a member of the core group of Kaya Natin! Movement, a citizen’s movement in the Philippines advocating ethical and effective leadership.
ANDREW CHAN
Andrew Chan is an executive director with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Advisory Services, Malaysia. He has played an instrumental role in growing PwC's consulting practice from a 10-person team to over 100 today. Andrew worked for many years in London where he gained significant experience in strategic, operational and change management issues with Gemini Consulting, now part of Cap Gemini. Since then, he moved to Malaysia where he now heads the Sustainability Solutions practice across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, which helps companies in the region respond to the growing corporate responsibility agenda. His work includes a project to improve engagement with the indigenous people deep in the heart of east Malaysia. In his own time, Andrew is an active volunteer - his efforts, including building homes in northern Mongolia as part of his involvement with the Habitat for Humanity international program, have won him PwC's Citizen Award which recognizes those who have
made a difference to the community and country. Andrew holds a Masters of Engineering, Economics and Management degree from the University of Oxford.
PREMESH CHANDRAN
Premesh Chandran is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysiakini.com, an independent news media organization in Malaysia. Malaysiakini has been recognised through various awards and accolades including from the International Press Institute, Reporters Sans Frontiers, the Committee to Protect Journalists, Asiaweek and Businessweek. Malaysiakini is also the only media organization in Southeast Asia nominated to the prestigious World Economic Forum's International Media Council. Besides Malaysiakini, Premesh regular speaks and teaches about the business of new media. Premesh previously worked as a journalist and a labor researcher. Apart from Malaysiakini, his passions include corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, human rights and campaigning for local elections. He holds a degree in Physics and a Masters degree in International Studies.

HOLLY CHANG
Holly Chang is the Founder and CEO of Golden Bridges Foundation, a Beijing-based nonprofit that strengthens grassroots NGOs focused on alleviating poverty, solving environmental problems, and improving lives for thousands of migrant children, orphans, and other marginalized populations in China's emerging third sector. Holly previously worked as a Plant Engineer at UPS on time-sensitive projects with budgets up to US$1billion. In late 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, she left her corporate career and joined the Red Cross as a disaster-relief volunteer. By 2008, Holly had sold her home and belongings, moved to China, and invested her life-savings to start Golden Bridges to channel philanthropic capital, volunteer expertise, and cross-sector resources to empower nonprofit leaders to build high-performing, trust-worthy organizations. With a long-term approach, she is designing programs that promote the growth of a healthy, vibrant and peaceful civil society in China. Holly holds degrees in civil
engineering, psychology, and an MBA.
AYUSH CHAUHAN
Ayush Chauhan is the Managing Director of Quicksand Design Studio in Gurgaon, India. After his engineering studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and a management education from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Ayush joined a private sector bank as part of the team structuring banking innovations for Indian rural markets. Convinced about the value and a much richer approach to solving that design thinking brings, he cut short his search for an appropriate graduate program in design, to instead co-found Quicksand - a design collective that would provide consultancy services for user-centered innovation. Since its inception in 2005,
pyramid and corporate engagements to build more meaningful products, services and brand experiences. Ayush has led Quicksand's engagement with global foundations & multi-lateral agencies such as UNDP, USAID, PATH, International Youth Foundation and corporations like Google, Cisco and Ideo. Quicksand today comprises a passionate team of film makers, designers, photographers, social researchers, technologists and business managers, making it one of its kind in India and amongst a handful of organizations worldwide pushing for a new approach to business and social innovations. Quicksand has also incubated several independent, new media ventures such as Blindboys (http://blindboys.org - a South Asian photography webzine) and BLOT (http://blottin.blogspot.com - a new media electronic music & visual arts performance group).
CALVIN CHIN
Calvin Chin is the Founder and CEO of Shanghai-based Qifang, China's leading online student loan service and the first company from China to be named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. Calvin is a serial entrepreneur who has over 10 years of experience in start-ups in New York, Silicon Valley, and Shanghai. Calvin also advises and gives talks to companies, entrepreneurs, and students on start-up strategy, management, fundraising, and marketing. Calvin has an MBA from TRIUM (NYU, LSE, HEC Paris) and a BA from Yale University.
H.S. CHO
H.S. Cho is the Senior Vice President at the Corporate Strategy Center at Hyosung Group. He is a Member of the Management Committee (Hyosung Group’s Supreme decision making board) and a Member of the Board of Hyosung Group’s several subsidiaries (in charge of Group’s Key Decision Making/Strategic Planning/Operations). His past experience includes Consultant, Bain & Company, Tokyo/Seoul. In this role, he executed many Asian MNC’s cases. He also served as a Manager at NTT Communications Corporation (largest Telecom in Japan, Tokyo). As a regular participant of the World Economic Forum, he has also been selected as a member of the “Asian Young Leader’s Forum” by the Korea/Japan Foundation (2005). He graduated with a BA in Economics from Brown University/Yonsei University. He is fluent in Korean, English, and Japanese. He is an enthusiastic
lover of sports, traveling, photography, and gastronomy.
KATHERINE CHON
Katherine Chon is the Co-Founder and President of Polaris Project, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization combating modern-day slavery. Katherine has worked closely with survivors of labor and sex trafficking through victim identification and service provision. She has testified before Congress to advocate for stronger policies on human trafficking and has provided training and consultation to numerous government, corporate, and community organizations. Her professional interests also include the role of civil society in democratic governance. Katherine

received the DO Something Brick Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2004, Brown University's John Hope Award for Community Service in 2007, and was a fellow with the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated with honors from Brown University with a BS in Psychology. Katherine is currently pursuing a Mid-Career Masters in Public Administration degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
PAUL CHONG
Paul Chong is a management consultant for Booz & Company. Previously an investment banker in Beijing, Paul moved to Sydney, Australia, in 2008 to pursue his two passions; Sports Administration and Sustainable Development. A former New Zealand powerlifting champion and an active competitor in marathon and triathlon, Paul continues his involvement with sports development through being a Director of the Special Olympics, New South Wales, and Vice President of University Sports New Zealand. Paul graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree from the University of Otago where he was the first Student President of Chinese descent. Currently, Paul is taking a three-month break from consulting to conduct an internship in sustainable development at the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo.
STEVE WOO-SUNG CHUNG
Steve Woo-Sung Chung is the Chief Strategy Officer for CDNetworks, Inc., a publicly traded company on Korea's KOSDAQ providing Internet content delivery network (CDN) services, which is Asia's #1 provider. He is responsible for corporate strategy, M&A and the company's global businesses in the US, Europe, Japan and China. Previously, Steve was a venture capitalist for BlueRun Ventures in Silicon Valley, a $1 billion venture capital fund initiated by Nokia. Prior to that, he was the COO for Pan Media Corporation in Beijing and analyst for Goldman Sachs in NY. He received his A.B. from Harvard and his MBA from Stanford.

In 2007-08, he was a Shorenstein Fellow at Stanford's Asia-Pacific Research Center. From 2004 to 2007, he was a policy official in the US Treasury Department, serving most recently as the Deputy Director of the Office of South and Southeast Asia. John has also served since 1999 as a legal advisor to the Documentation Center of Cambodia, which promotes memory and justice with respect to the Khmer Rouge tragedy. John was also a 2003-04 Visiting Research Fellow at the Rajaratnam School of
International Studies in Singapore and an attorney at the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell from 1997 to 2000. John has an AB from Harvard College, JD from Harvard Law School, and MPhil and DPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford.
VERONICA COLONDAM
Veronica Colondam is the Founder and CEO of Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB, which translates as "Loving the Nation's Children Foundation"), an independent non-profit, social foundation. It was founded out of concern for the drug abuse problem among the youth in Indonesia. With the objective of saving the lives and minds of Indonesia's youth, YCAB provides education, raises awareness and ensures primary prevention of narcotics abuse. Veronica initiated the YADA (Youth Against Drug Abuse) Club in 2000. Under her leadership, YCAB trains close to 300,000 youth nationwide annually and mobilized mass media in shaping public opinion on drug abuse and advocating the government on the urgency of and the strategy for primary prevention. Veronica co-authored a manual for youth on "Enhancing Life Skills on Drug Abuse Prevention" and serves as an advisor to the Indonesian
National Narcotics Board. She received the National Gold Award from the Indonesian President in 2003. In 2004, she was commissioned by the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC- Vienna) to become the Regional Coordinator of the Global Youth Network (GYN) for SouthEast Asia and the Pacific. In 2007-2008, YCAB played a major role in the region as the main regional coordinator of NGOs under the Vienna NGO Commission. In 2007, YCAB received a Special Consultative Status from the UN Economic and Social Council. She published her first book "Raising Drug Free Children," in July 2007. Veronica was appointed as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2006 and served as an Asia Society 21 Young Leaders Fellow, class of 2007-08. In November 2008, she received a Social Innovator Park Fellow Award for her contribution as a social entrepreneur in Indonesia. She studied mass communication and public relations for her undergraduate degree and was awarded an MS in Drug Policy and Intervention from the

Imperial College, University of London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicines. At 29, Veronica was the youngest recipient of the United Nations - Vienna Civil Society Award (2001).
DAMDIN TSOGTBAATAR
Damdin Tsogtbaatar is the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, a position he was appointed to in June 2008. Prior to this appointment, he served as Foreign Policy Advisor to two Presidents of Mongolia for over six years. Between 2000 and 2002, Damdin was Deputy Director of the Department of Multi-lateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Before that, he served as a WTO desk officer for the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and desk officer in charge of Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN countries in the Asia and Africa Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Damdin received his Masters degree in legal studies (international law) from the Australian National University School of Law, as well as a Masters degree in political science (with
Hon.) from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russia. In addition, he was a part-time lecturer in international trade law at the School of Foreign Service, National University of Mongolia. His WTO-related articles were published in London, Boston and Cambridge. Damdin speaks fluent Russian and English and also speaks Khmer and Thai.
NITIN DAS
Nitin Das is an independent filmmaker based out of Mumbai, India. He has recently finished a feature length children's film in the slums of Mumbai. Nitin has a degree in marketing from one of India's leading business schools, and was working as a brand manager for India's largest selling news magazine before he turned to follow his passion of filmmaking. He has completed a filmmaking course in New York. On returning to India, he set up a film production house, Filmkaar Productions, to make "extraordinary films with ordinary people." The United Nations Environment Programme recently selected one of his films on global warming. Nitin has won a special award from the British Council for creative entrepreneurship in the social sector. His next venture is to connect exceptional filmmakers from around the world with social entrepreneurs working in fragile ecosystems to create a collection of entertaining films called "Tales from Enchanted Lands.”
ENKHCHIMEG DAVAANYAM
Enkhchimeg Davaanyam is the CEO of Petrovis LLC, the largest petroleum import and distribution company operating in Mongolia. Before taking this position in January 2008, she worked as the Head of Investment and Planning Division of ERDENES MGL SHC, a state-owned company which holds and manages licenses of the largest strategic mining deposits of the country. She has also worked as the USA, Canada and South America desk officer responsible for trade and economy affairs at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Mongolia. Enkhchimeg graduated from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Colorado with dual degrees as Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Finance. She continued her study and work experience in the United States as a Research Assistant in the Graduate School of Business at the University of
Colorado, as an investment analyst at a hedge fund and also as an investment analyst at Citigroup Insurance investment in Hartford, CT. She has a bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies from the University of Foreign Languages in Ulaanbaatar, as well as a diploma in Japanese Studies from the Tokyo University of Foreign Languages in Japan. Enkhchimeg is fluent in Japanese, English and Russian. She is Level II Candidate in process for the CFA Chartered Financial Analyst degree.
Abha Dawesar is an internationally acclaimed author of four novels, most recently Family Values, which is currently shortlisted for the Prix Médicis Etranger and the Prix Femina Etranger in France. Her book Babyji won the American Library Association's Stonewall Award and a Lambda literary prize. It was also shortlisted for the Prix Médicis Etranger and the Prix Bel Ami. In 2000, Abha won a Fiction Fellowship from the New York Foundation of the Arts. She was one of 20 women selected as a Rising Talent by the Women's Forum for Economy and Society in 2007. In August 2009, she was given the Global Youth Leadership Award by Youth Organization India. Her works have been translated into French, Spanish,
residencies for writers, and spoken at literary events and conferences. Abha also serves on the Advisory Board of the Kalidas Ghalib Foundation in India. She blogs on her site www.abhadawesar.com.

Jose Romeo "Romy" S. De La Cruz is on his third term as a member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Santiago City, Philippines. He was elected to the aforesaid local legislative body through a popular vote during the local elections in 2001, 2004 and 2007. In recognition of the local legislations he authored empowering youth, he was awarded the Gawad Kampeon ng Kabataang Pilipino (Ten Outstanding Legislators for Youth) in 2006 by Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines. Before he was elected, he served thousands of indigent litigants as a public attorney of the Public Attorney's Office. Aside from being a public servant, he is also engaged in the active practice of law and a lecturer of Public International Law and
Conflict of Laws at the University of La Salette College of Law. Romy received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, from St. Louis University and his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. His current advocacy is environmental education, protection and preservation.
SAPNA DESAI
Sapna Desai is Health Coordinator with the national federation of the Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), a trade union of 1.1 million women workers in India's informal economy. She is a public health specialist, focusing on women's health, implementation of community-based health programs, and operations research. She has previously worked with Family Health International in New Delhi and at a health care consulting firm in New York. Sapna holds a Masters degree in public health from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in international relations from Brown University.

Other than the underserviced demand for high quality medical and health services in Indonesia, Novita's choice of this sector was driven by her dream to witness Indonesians having accessible and affordable health and medical service everywhere in the country. While still very young
and greatly successful in various commercial ventures, Novita decided to leave her active involvement in business and shifted to social and organizational activities three years ago, especially in the area of entrepreneurship, microfinance and the creative industry. She recently established Indonesia Raya Binangkit, a documentary production house aiming to preserve Indonesia's history and heritage in creative and modern way. She is the first female Treasurer at the Indonesian Young Entrepreneur Association (HIPMI), with over 30,000 members, and Vice Chairwomen of the Committee for People's Economy and Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce. With great creativity, deep social care, and a strong management, Novita believes that Indonesia - and Asia - will not only yield more influence, but also command higher respect from the rest of the world.
