ENGLISH DIPHTHONG NO. 8: Ue
(1)/ue/ is a diphthong which starts at /U/ (English Vowel No. 8) and terminates at a sound of the /e/. It is a ,falling diphthong.

(o. o. r),as in poor,moor;
(u. r)as in curious,duration,security;
(o. u. r),as in lour,gourd;
(u. a),as in fluency;
(e. w. e),as in jewel.

Poor,boor,tour,doer,gourd,jewel,adjure,moor,bluer,truer,pure,endure,cure,newer.
(4)Pathans often add a r-sound at the end of the diphthong when there is an r in the spelling. Thus it is very common to hear them pronounce ‘poor’ as /pu:er/or/pu:r/instead of/pue/.
