English is more explicit than Arabic in this area since it accepts many 
syllable patterns. 
10. Final word syllable in Arabic is part of the original structure of the word 
itself; it is not a separate morpheme referring to plurality or past tense as in 
English.
11. Generally speaking, English is more explicit than Arabic in the treatment 
of syllable due to the aforementioned points. 
12. The hypotheses set at the beginning of the paper are validated. It has been 
proved through the literature on the syllable that the syllable is the basic unit 
of organization for a sequence of speech sounds. Moreover, it has been 
clarified how Arabic syllable patterns are more limited than English syllable 
patterns. The constraints on consonant clusters are the result of such 
limitation.
