Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists but 

not local people. Why is this the case and what can be done to attract 

more local people to visit these places? 

It is agreed that local people do not visit a number of places of historical 

importance  and  museums  as  much  as  tourists.  This  essay  will  discuss 

that  the  main  problem  is  over  exposition  of  such  places  to  locals  and 

suggest free or low cost excursions as a viable solution.  

One problem associated with this is local museums and historical places 

are  given  too  much  information  about  since  they  are  the  objects  of                

cultural  heritage  and  national  identity.  Since  young  ages  children  are 

taught about them, watch a number of documentaries and films shot in 

such locations. Consequently, interest in such places of huge importance 

declines.  For  instance,  Samarkand  and  Bukhara  are  host  to  the  most     

popular  castles,  mausoleums  and  arcs  in  Uzbekistan  and  local  people 

know them from early days and are not willing to visit due to this fact.  

The  way  forward  would  be  to  organize  visits  and  excursion  to  school 

learners  during  history  classes.  This  could  raise  awareness  of  young             

people  and  boost  their  love  of  motherland.  Children  from  nearby  re-

gions can visit these places with class by coaches for which local authori-

ty  and  education  authority  will  be  responsible.  Companies  and                        

industries  can  make  special  excursions  for  their  staff  as  a  recreational    

activity  during  which  people  can  know  more  about  such  locations  as 

museums and historic sites that places a crucial role in the culture of that 

country. These efforts could help to attract more locals to these places. 

In  conclusion,  the  biggest  problem  seems  to  be  giving  too  much                        

attention to such places and an effective solution would be to make ef-

forts to get local people to visit these sites more.

Nowadays,  it  is  widely  observed  that  the  number  of  secondary  school                 

teachers is falling rapidly in many parts of the world. In this essay I will look 

at the causes of this problem and suggest some effective solutions which can 

attract more teachers to classrooms in high schools. 

A major cause of the problem is that teachers are not paid well for the work 

they  do  at  school.  They  usually  have  a  great  deal  of  responsibilities  that                 

consume most of their time, not to mention the fact that they have to do part 

of their work at home after school time. However, the salaries do not fairly 

reflect the amount of work that has been done by them. To tackle this issue, 

governments  should  reduce  schoolteachers’  workload  significantly  and                

increase salaries so that more skilled teachers would want to continue work-

ing in secondary schools. 

Another problem is associated with poor and sometimes loutish behavior of 

learners  at  school.  It  is  no  secret  that  overall  behavior  of  learners  has                         

worsened  in  the  last  years  leading  to  more  conflicts  between  teachers  and 

learners,  even  some  cases  of  bullying  at  teachers  have  occurred  in  recent 

years. This situation is particularly despairing young teachers who have just 

started school with great ambitions. The way forward would be for schools 

and parents to cooperate and reduce the incidence of bullying. For example, 

extra  classes  could  be  organized  for  difficult  learners  with  their  parents  to             

improve their behavior and raise respect to teachers. 

To  conclude,  teachers  are  turning  away  from  secondary  schools  due  to              

overwork  and  low  salary  paid  for  this  as  well  as  poor  behavior  of  some                   

learners. Governments should provide higher salaries so that teachers will be 

motivated to educate learners. It is also recommended that stricter measures 

need to be taken to fight bullying and poor behavior of some learners.
