The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan by his decree granted all universities, institutions 
of postgraduate education, retraining and advanced training of personnel, regardless of their forms 
of ownership and jurisdiction, the right to organize distance learning. According to experts, the 
introduction of distance learning in the higher education system will reduce costs for both students 
and the state. In addition, it will make it possible to increase the quotas for the admission of 
students to universities, to attract those citizens who previously could not afford it due to lack of 
time.
Today, all the necessary elements have already been created on the platform designed for 
organizing online courses. In particular, there are lectures, video tutorials, tests, tasks, chats, 
forums, a glossary, a feedback mechanism, and a webinar. In addition, the platform was integrated 
with social networks to create user convenience. Distance learning is the creation of a learning 
environment that includes computer and information tools, where communication between students 
and the teacher occurs through telecommunications channels.
There are a number of technological tools for conducting distance learning: for example, 
computer-based learning technologies. This technology is already firmly established in the 
educational process, usually the educational material in this technology is presented in the form of 
computer programs or systems. The main component of this training material is “hypertext”, the 
difference between hypertext and regular text in a clear structure and the ability to instantly move 
to any part of the material. (6) For example, in the branch of the Gubkin Russian State University 
of Oil and Gas in Tashkent, the method of distance learning through online video conferencing is 
widely used. First of all, of course, it should be noted that this type of training allows students to 
gain knowledge from well-known professors who teach at the main university and therefore do not 
always have the opportunity to come to Tashkent and give lectures. It would also be worth noting 
the attitude of students to this type of training: since this is a new system, the student takes it more 
seriously and with very great interest they sit at such lectures. It also provides an opportunity for 
teachers to share their experiences with each other. Distance learning also allows a single teacher 
to teach a huge number of students and to control knowledge through tests and control papers. 
Here is an overview of the most popular distance learning systems:
· eLearning Server-a boxed product of eLearning Server allows you to create your own 
training center on the Internet and organize a full cycle of distance learning. With its modular 
architecture, open source, and built-in configuration and integration tools, the functionality of 
eLearning Server is easily extensible.
· Moodle is a distance learning environment designed to create quality distance learning 
courses. This software product is used in more than 100 countries around the world by universi-
ties, schools, companies and independent teachers. In terms of its capabilities, Moodle stands up 
to comparison with well-known commercial educational process management systems, while at 
the same time it compares favorably with them in that it is distributed in open source - this makes 
it possible to “sharpen” it to the specifics of each educational project, to supplement it with new 
services.
· Adobe Connect is specialized software based on Adobe Flash technology, designed for dis-
tance learning, interactive conferences, meetings, online customer support, information exchange, 
and other equally useful functions.
Summing up, I would like to say that information technology has a huge impact on a person’s 
life and their introduction into the educational system is caused by everyday necessity. Computers,
