Policies (in alphabetical order)
RTI has always sought professional, competent people who will make good decisions in difficult situations. How we do business and how we treat others defines RTI to the rest of the world. As employees, we are expected to do more than comply with laws and regulations. We are expected to behave honestly and with integrity and respect in all of our business interactions. Honesty and integrity form the foundation of RTI’s reputation for excellence, which is important to protect, easy to lose, and difficult to regain. Computers It is the policy of RTI to provide to its staff the resources to electronically communicate, share information and process data – an essential component of RTI’s research and administrative operations. To this end, RTI staff requires access to computing resources from both within and outside RTI and access to computing resources external to RTI, including the Internet and the World Wide Web (hereinafter referred to as “Resources”). At the same time, RTI’s systems and data must be kept secure in a manner that balances the staff’s need for an open, creative environment with the realities of client requirements and the vulnerabilities introduced by the use of information technology. Data is a critical component of the daily functioning of RTI and is the property of RTI. Access to data and RTI’s network is a privilege and must be treated as such in accordance with RTI’s Code of Conduct. Users must employ Resources in a responsible manner, respecting the trust with which they have been provided, the integrity of facilities and controls, and all pertinent laws as well as RTI policies and standards. Use of Resources is governed by this Policy regardless of who owns the equipment being used, its location, or the employer. “Resources” include all electronic information that can be stored or transmitted, any RTI network, and all equipment, software and telephones.
