Post Employment Inquiries
It is the policy of RTI not to respond to reference inquiries about former employees, except for verification of dates of employment and position held. Staff receiving requests for information about a former employee should refer them to HR Help. RTI will give a certificate of service to leaving employees. Scientific Integrity It is the policy of RTI to maintain an environment that fosters scientific integrity based on the highest ethical principles of conduct in the performance and reporting of RTI’s work and Uzbekistan LN Employee Handbook February 2020 19 research. Ethical behavior, involving strict adherence to scientific principles in the generation and gathering of research data and in the reporting of that data, is basic to the scientific process and to the discovery of new knowledge. Lack of scientific integrity in research is counter to the very nature of research, namely, the search for truth. RTI’s reputation for integrity has been built on the overall quality of the staff and sustained by high ethical standards in conducting research. RTI employees, along with the general scientific community, have a responsibility to the public not only to prevent unethical behavior in research, but also to be alert to, and deal effectively with, instances in which unethical research behavior is suspected. Such behavior includes deliberate falsification of data, ranging from outright fabrication to purposely omitting conflicting data from research results; plagiarism; misappropriation of the ideas of others; and other practices that seriously deviate from those commonly accepted in the scientific community for proposing, conducting, or reporting research. Examples of such practices are the inability to produce verifiable primary data supporting research results, lack of free and informed consent, undisclosed data dredging, and interviewer falsification of data and unethical animal research. Honest errors and honest differences in interpretations or judgments of data are not unethical; indeed, they are a necessary part of any active and productive environment. All employees must recognize and report to HR any potential scientific misconduct, using a Disclosure Form available on RTI Insider. Download 243.52 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
