This activity will help to improve students’ reading and writing skills.
Exercise 2
• Focus students’ attention on the words in the box. Ask them to find the words in the text and to underline them.
• Read through the rules together with the class and check understanding.
• Students complete the task individually. Allow them to check their answers in pairs before checking as a class.
• Ask students to write their own examples with each of the words. Circulate and monitor, making notes of any errors you would like to address later.

Optional activity: Speaking
Put students into groups of four and tell students they are going to design their own app. They should think about:
• What kind of app is it (e.g. a travel app, a special events calendar, a game, an app for learning languages, a shopping app)? What is its name?
• What features does it have (e.g. maps, reviews, a scoreboard)? What can people do with it?
• Who is it for (e.g. teenagers, parents, travellers)?
• What is it going to look like (e.g. colours, photos)?
Monitor while students are preparing and help with vocabulary as necessary. When students are ready, ask them to present their idea to the class. You could get the class to vote for the best idea.
