ANNOTATION

Research objects: The study of pragma-semantic expressions in "Pollyanna" by Eleanor H. Porter is defined.
The purpose of the work is to reveal the unique artistic and linguistic features of pragma-semantic, functional features in the English language, and includes issues of analyzing the translation of the style of the text.
Research methods: historical-comparative, system-structural, descriptive, cross-sectional, component analysis, etymological analysis methods were used to clarify the essence of the topic.
The obtained results and their novelty: in translation studies, the issues related to the style of the text were studied in the English language material, the Uzbek translation was analyzed, and conclusions were drawn up regarding their pragmatic-semantic aspects;
speech acts (locution, illocution and perlocution) as the main means of pragmatics are distinguished and proved on the basis of factual materials;
the style of the text was studied from a semantic-functional point of view, and scientific recommendations were developed regarding their relation to language standards.
Practical significance: the practical significance of the research is that the achieved results serve to enrich research in the field of comparative literature, cross-linguistics, translation studies. The theoretical conclusions presented in the dissertation can be used as a source for elucidating the semantic features of text style in certain languages. The results of the research show that students studying philology, researchers, translators, and specialists in linguistics can use them in their practical and scientific research.
The level of implementation and economic efficiency: The level of implementation of the research work is determined by the fact that the problem is clearly stated, based on the theoretical opinions of scientists, and the conclusions drawn in the research based on the achievements of modern linguistics and translation studies are proven by means of stylistic, pragmatic-semantic, classification, comparison and statistical analysis methods. .
