It should be noted that financial analysts vary somewhat in
calculating return on equity.
Earnings per Share (EPS)
The earnings per share measures the dollar return per share to
owners of a company.

As with many of these ratios, EPS can be calculated broadly
through the use of plain balance sheet numbers or by subtract-
ing out earnings components or calculating the weighted aver-
age of shares outstanding. This depends on the analytical rela-
tionships you seek to establish.
Putting It All Together
There are a number of other valuable ratios that haven’t been
covered here. Among these we could mention price/earnings
ratio, price-to-sales ratio, and price-to-book-value ratio, primarily
because they’re more relevant to investing activities than to
managing a business. As you develop your understanding, you
may find other ratios to depend on to boost your managerial
career.

reports is a matrix of ratio analysis and the formulas. Take the
numbers from the statements and calculate the ratios. What
