Action research a Handbook for Students

Anna Góral – assistant professor in the Department of Cultural Manage-
ment, Jagiellonian University. For many years she has been involved in the work 
in the non-governmental and public sectors. Author of numerous academic 
publications on issues related to national heritage management, in particular the 
role of intersectoral cooperation in the development of the heritage. Her special 
interests include diversity management in organisations, civic activity and cul-
tural organisations.
Beata Jałocha – assistant professor in the Institute of Public Affairs, Jagiel-
lonian University. Her research interests focus mainly on project management 
and projectisation processes, as well as action research. She teaches and conducts 
research projects involving action research as a methodological approach to solv-
ing social and organisational problems.
Grzegorz Mazurkiewicz – professor at the Jagiellonian University, head 
of the Department of Leadership and Management in Education at the In-
stitute of Public Affairs. Subjects of his academic inquiry include education 
leadership, education policies, management in education, quality of education, 
equal opportunities in education (in particular with regard to gender-based 
inequalities), intercultural education, as well as teachers’ attitudes and behav-
iours. One of the major areas of his didactic work is manifested the course 
he created entitled “Action research as a strategy for the public sphere”. The 
guiding principle driving his didactic work is increasing students’ involvement 
and combining theory with practice.
Michał Zawadzki – PhD, assistant professor of management at Jönköping 
International Business School, he also worked in Stockholm Business School, 
Gothenburg Research Institute and the Jagiellonian University. Laureate of the 
scholarship for young researchers awarded by the Polish Ministry of Science and
