LESSON 3. FUTURE CONTINUOUS.
Structure:
P: S+will be +VingShe will be cleaning the house when you get there.
N: S+won’t be+VingShe won’t be cleaning the house when you get there.
Sh.A.Q: Will+S+be+Ving…? Will she be cleaning the house when I get there?
Yes, S(p)+will. Yes, she will.
No, S(p)+won’t. No, she won’t.
Q: Q.W.+will+S+be+Ving…? What will she be doing when I get there?


  • The Future Continuous is used to talk about actions which will be in progress at the said time in the future:

I will be having a shower at 9 o’clock.

  • The Future Continuous is used to describe situations and views in the future:

When you come home tonight, we will be watching football with friends, everybody will be shouting.

  • The Future Continuous is used to say that one action will happen in the middle of another action. (interrupted action): I will be working on my new project when you arrive.

  • The Future Continuous is used to talk about future plans like “going to” and “Present Continuous”: I’ll be meeting the new tourists at 5 o’clock, so I can’t go with you.

  • The Future Continuous is used to ask about someone’s plans especially, when we want something from that person:

  • What will you be doing at 5 o’clock this afternoon?

  • Nothing, why are you asking?

  • The Future Continuous is used for actions which will definitely happen in the future as the result of a routine or arrangement:

  • Shall I inform the rest of the team?

  • No, I’ll do it. I’ll be seeing them at the meeting anyway.


UNIT 4. PERFECT TENSES.
LESSON 1. PRESENT PERFECT.
Structure:
Present Perfect Simple: Present Perfect Continuous:
P: S+have/has+Ved/V3… P: S+have/has+been+Ving
N: S+haven’t/hasn’t+Ved/V3… N: S+haven’t/hasn’t+been+Ving
Sh.A.Q: Have/Has+S+Ved/V3…? Sh.A.Q: Have/Has+S+been+Ving…?
Yes, S(p)+have/has. Yes, S(p)+have/has.
No, S(p)+haven’t/hasn’t. No, S(p)+haven’t/hasn’t.
Q: Q.W.+have/has+S+Ved/V3…? Q: Q.W.+have/has+S+been+Ving…?


  • The Present Perfect is used to show the present result of past actions. Signal words:

just-comes before the main verb
already- comes before the main verb
yet-comes at the end
I’ve just had lunch. (=I’m full)
She’s already repaired the computer. (=you can use it now, it works)
I haven’t done my homework, yet. (=I still have to do my homework)

  • Present Perfect is used to say if something happened or been done during the time which started in the past and continued till now. Our lives also started in the past and continued till now. So, if we say whether someone has done or hasn’t done something in their lives we use Present Perfect. Signal words:

ever- comes before the main verb
never- comes before the main verb
Have you repaired my car? (since the time I brought it to you until now)
I’ve never sailed in the sea. (in my life)
Have you ever lost your passport? (in your life)

  • The Present Perfect is used to say how long an action continued till now. Signal words:

how long-is a question word
since-is the starting point
for- is the duration
How long have you worked here?
I’ve been learning English for ages.
I’ve known my best friend since I was a child.

  • The Present Perfect is used with unfinished time expressions: today/this week/this month…

I’ve written ten pages today.

  • The Present Perfect is used to give news about recent happenings, but if we continue the conversation we use past tenses. Signal words:

recently- comes at the end
so far- comes at the end

  • You know, she has recently bought a new car.

  • Really? What kind of car did she buy?
