      • for health reasons on the basis of the certificate-conclusion of the Health Consulting Board;

      • in connection with transfer to another higher educational institution;

16.3 Medical statements confirmed by the conclusion of the Health Consulting Board or the attending doctor with the seal of the medical institution provided within 3 days after the illness to the Dean's Office, departure on a foreign business trip, participation in sports and other events of the national or international level with the consent of the university administration, as well as force majeure circumstances with proper documents are considered to be the good reasons of absence.

17. Academic leave

17.1 CPU provides academic leave to students in accordance with the Rules for granting academic leave to students in educational organizations, approved by Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 4, 2014 No. 506 (as amended on April 15, 2010, Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 144).

The grounds for granting academic leave are:
1) conclusions of the Health Consulting Board (further HKB) at the out-patient and polyclinic organization by duration for the period from 6 to 12 months due to illness;
2) decisions of the centralized Health Consulting Board (further CHCB) of the antitubercular organization in case of a tuberculosis disease lasting term no more than 36 months;
3) draft notice on conscription;
4) birth, adoption of a child until the child reaches the age of three years.
17.2 When the person studying on the basis of a state educational order is granted an academic leave, the right to further study on the basis of a state educational order remains for this person, and the financing of his/her education is interrupted for the period of the granted academic leave, which resumes after the end of it.
When the person studying on a paid basis is granted an academic leave, tuition fees are suspended for the period of academic leave.
17.3 After the end of the academic leave, the student continues his/her studies from the course (and academic period) from which the academic leave started.
If the date of the academic leave’s end or the academic leave’s start does not coincide with the beginning or end of the academic period, the student on an individual schedule performs educational tasks and gets the points necessary for the admission rating, or is enrolled in the summer semester for the disciplines for which the difference was formed.
17.4 On the basis of the submitted documents the Dean shall determine the difference of disciplines in the curricula, the training course and approve the individual curriculum of the student and submit it to the Registrar's Office.
To eliminate the difference in the curricula, a student who has returned from academic leave is registered for the necessary disciplines and re-studied them during the semester along with current cohorts or within the framework of the additional semester. Students, holders of an educational grant, after academic leave and business trips undergo repeated training free of charge (once), students who pay the tuition fee do this on a paid basis. Students returning from an academic leave for tuberculosis disease study the difference in curricula during the semester and pass everything free of charge regardless of the form of payment.
