Activity 10: Bicycle Chain

  • Count off 1-2 to divide participants into 2 lines.

  • Ask 1s to stand in a line at the front of the room.

  • Ask 2s to stand in front of the 1s so that they are face-to-face.

  • Ask Question 1.

  • Give participants 1 minute to discuss the question.

  • Use an attention grabber to get the participants’ attention.

  • Repeat once or twice.

  • Ask 1s to take one step to their left so that everyone has a new partner.

  • Ask Question 2.

  • Repeat the steps to ask Question 3.




  1. How do you greet your students before each class?

  2. How do you start your lesson each day?

  3. How do you end your lessons?
